Journaly entry 10/29/09

I'm so happy today...the phillies won! Me and my family are real big philly phans. I like all philadelphia teams, everyone else is trash. I was watchin the game last night with my friend. She's a yankee fan. Ha, it felt so good to see them lose right in front of her. Cliff Lee made them yankees look like little leagures. It was great. Chase Utley made CC Sabathia look like batting practice.
We had made a bet, for whichever team loses they had to wear the other teams jersey to school today. She didn't own up to the bet. Disappointing. Oh well, she'll wear one eventually. She said whoever wins the whole thing will have to wear the shirt then. Which traditionally, the team who wins the first game in the World Series, wins the whole thing. And phillies won 6-1. Sounds pretty brutal, if you ask me. I love it though. GO PHILLIES!!!

Spiders

The sight of a spider
Sounds of little a girl cries
Don't be afraid
They only eat flies
Gnats and mosquitos
And other bugs to
If it weren't for them
What would we do?
There would be more bugs
That would pester and annoy
So next time theres a spider
Show him your joy
Show him you don't mind him
Having a home in yours
Tell him he can stay
If he does his chores
Just eat the bugs
That bother my home
If you do that
We'll leave u alone.

Worst book: Beowulf

Beowulf was a completely trash book. Who cares about the old english literature? I'm sure all of its not as bad as beowulf. Who wants to read about a bunch of ego-maniac barbarians, that talk to much. When they spoke it wasn't just like "Hey, how are you?" It was more like "Today the sun rises in the east, because that's wat fate does, it makes everything work on how its supposed to, and if I are to die by the suns venture to the west, then it was meant to be, I shall see you all in the after-life." What kind of greeting is that? Seriously.

"Swear To Howdy" By Wendelin van Draanen

My favorite book I've ever read, is "Swear to Howdy." It's a story about a kid, Russel Cooper, who moves to a rural area from the city suburbs. He becomes close friends with his neighbor, Joey Banks. Russel was nicknamed "Rusty" by Joey because of his name. They loved to be waywardness. They did everything from putting bugs in his older sister's drink when she wasn't looking, to replacing the dead family gold fish. Everytime something happens where they can get in trouble for it, Joey makes Rusty "swear to howdy" that he won't tell anyone. Rusty being the good friend he is, never spoke a word of it. Rusty never spoke of any of their schemes. Joey and Rusty find a huge bull frog, that they named "Tank." They sat there and watched the bull frong not move, until one day, a truck was driving by. Tank jumps into the back of the pick-up and jumps out on the bridge into the river. A few days later, Joey's dad gave him a bee-bee gun to shoot the squirrels that are digging tunnels under the driveway, and he then shot his dad's cat on accident. His dad loved that cat.
You start to think that him killing his father's cat and him getting in trouble for it is the big climax, wrong. He sneaks out a few nights later, grabs Rusty out of his room, then they go over towards the bridge for a new idea that Joey came up with. They hang a scarecrow in the tree by a piece of rope. When the pull the rope it raises it up, and when they let go, it drops. When a car was driving by they decided to drop it, and the scarecrow smacks the windshield. The car swirves off and hits the telephone pole. It was Joey's older sister. She had died when she hit the pole. Joey went into complete depression, and his dad started to hate him. Rusty found Joey on the side of the river eating these berries that were getting him drunk. A few nights later Rusty saw Joey in his room with his dad's rifle in his mouth, Rusty had stopped him. Joey made him "swear to howdy" that he wouldn't tell anyone. Rusty had to decide between being a loyal friend, and being a good friend. He chose to tell his parents about it, and his parents helped Joey out.

The Cold

I can't stand the cold. I prefer the warm nice weather with a little bit of a breeze to cool me off. The cold makes everything worse, like things hurt more when its cold. When you fall down on the ground, it hurts more than usual, beacuase your so cold, and the grounds cold. The grass feels like rock in the winter time. I'm not able to skate during the winter time beacuase its harder. I do it anyway, but its really difficult. I just can't wait for sprind to come, that way it'll be warm again, and I'll have my liscense by then, and it'll also be my b-day. Once spring comes around, everything will be sooooo much better. Spring needs to come now.
